Our Johnson River Barramundi Camp represents a totally remote outback fishing adventure. This very comfortable, fully equipped and extremely isolated fishing camp is situated in the pristine upper reaches of the mighty Johnson River on the north east coast of Melville Island ….a 30 minute/100 km charter flight from Darwin.
The Camp is owned and operated by the Melville Island Lodge team and caters for fishermen of all levels seeking a totally remote, yet comfortable, fully guided sport-fishing adventure.

Barramundi Fishing in the Northern Territory
The mighty barramundi is the most famous and keenly sought after fish in our waters, its reputation as being the premium sporting fish in the Northern Territory well earned and thoroughly deserved. Everybody enjoys catching barra. They are aggressive lure takers, strong fighters and look and taste great. Barramundi are prolific throughout the Melville system and are caught in good, often large, and sometimes very large numbers around fallen trees, gutters, creek mouths, rock bars and sand flats. |
